What is hotshot trucking?
Hotshot trucking is a freight-hauling method where a Class 3–5 pickup (often a one-ton dually) pulls a flatbed trailer for time-sensitive or partial loads. It picks up faster and routes more directly than waiting on full semi capacity — especially for machinery, construction materials, pallets, and equipment that fits a heavy deck.
When does hotshot make sense for Austin shippers?
Hotshot is the right call when the clock matters: job-site deadlines, line-down production support, or a partial load that does not justify a 53′ van. Shippers in Austin, San Antonio, and the I-35 corridor also choose hotshot when they need megaramps or deck loading for equipment that will not roll into an enclosed trailer.
We quote flat rates and tell you quickly if the load is a better fit for another mode — no run-around.

Freight buyer FAQs (Austin hotshot)
Is this expedited or same-day hotshot?
We specialize in fast-turn, direct moves for shippers who cannot wait on terminal freight or broker chains. Same-day pickup depends on location, driver availability, and hours of service—text Hotshot with cities and timing; we will tell you honestly if we can commit.
Do you run the I-35 corridor?
Yes. Austin sits on I-35; we regularly move loads along the corridor and into San Antonio, Waco–Temple–Killeen, and DFW / Houston by arrangement. See Central Texas service area.
Why book a direct carrier instead of a broker?
Your load stays on our truck with one contact. No double-brokering or mystery dispatch. Details: direct carrier vs broker and shipper & dispatcher facts.
Can procurement get a COI before the first load?
Yes. Tell us your certificate holder and any portal (RMIS, etc.) when you book. See COI and vendor setup.
